Can I
use my account when traveling?
Yes. Follow the instructions below.

Click on Nationwide Dial-Up.

Click on the state you are
traveling to.

Locate the city you will
be staying in and write down the local
access number.
(If the city isn't listed, try looking for
a neighboring town that is a local call).

When you arrive and ready
to connect to the internet, simply enter
the local access number into the settings
of your connection.
If you aren't taking your
computer with you and just want to check your
e-mail from another computer, you can access
your e-mail through this website.

How do I check my
dial-up settings?
Follow the steps below for Windows 95, 98, ME,
2000 or XP.
- Click Start
- Go to Settings
- Control Panel (XP, click Start ~ Control
Panel)
- Double click on Internet Options (XP,
click on "Network and Internet
Connections" first)
- Click on the "Connections" tab
(near the top)
- Highlight Dependanet (or name you used
to identify our connection)
- Look down the screen and make sure
"Dial whenever a network connection
isn't present" is checked.
- Make sure that the Dependanet connection
has "default" next to it.
- If not, highlight Dependanet and click
the "Set Default" button to the
lower right.
- Click on the Settings button. Make sure
that nothing is checked in this window.
- Click on the Advanced button below
Properties.
- Make sure "Disconnect if idle for
___ minutes" is not checked.
- Make sure "Disconnect if connection
may no longer be needed" is not
checked.
- Click OK, then OK again.
- Click OK to close Internet Options and
then close the Control Panel.

Why do I get
disconnected when I check my email?
This is usually because your mail program
(Outlook or Outlook Express) is set to
disconnect after sending and receiving mail.
To correct this, follow the instructions
below:
- Open Outlook Express
- Click on Tools, then click on Options
- Click on the Connection tab at the top
- Make sure that both of the boxes are
unchecked in this window. (Ask before
switching and Hang Up After Sending and
Receiving).
- Click the Apply button in the lower
right hand corner.
- Then click OK.

Why do I get
disconnected sometimes when I'm on the
Internet?
This is a default setting with Microsoft ME
and XP. See "How
do I check my Dialup Connection"
above.

| Why do I get
disconnected before I can send the e-mail I
just typed?
This is also the same as "Why do I get
disconnected when on the Internet". The
best way to ensure you don't get disconnected
is:
- Open Outlook Express
- Click on Tools, then click on Options.
- About ¾ of the way down, change where
it says "Check for new messages every
30 minutes" to every 5 or 10 minutes
and then click OK.
- Why?
Outlook Express will disconnect you when
sitting idle (not sending or receiving)
for 10 minutes by default. This will tell
your computer to check for email every 5
or 10 minutes (whatever you set it at)
which will prevent the 10 minute idle
disconnect.
